Glo Nigeria recently introduced 4G LTE network into the Nigerian mobile data space, which is fast growing to cover the whole of the country.

The 4G LTE network is the latest generation in the standards of wireless networks and it offers ultra-high internet speed, which is in multiples of the speed that the 3G network offers. A friend was able to download a movie file that is more than one gigabyte (1GB) in size in just two (2) minutes. Yes, that is how blazing fast it is.

The sad part however is that, as of today they are yet to cover the whole of the country with this 4G LTE network. The places, where this network is available for now include the following

Dedicated Servers from Liquid Web
  • Lagos: Lekki, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Ajah and Akoka
  • Abuja: Maitama, Wuse, Asokoro, Garki/Central Business District and Airport Road
  • Port Harcourt: Aba Road, Trans Amadi, Diobu, Old GRA and UNIPORT,
  • Benin
  • Warri
  • Eket
  • Jos
  • Zaria: ABU
  • Yola: ABTI

To start enjoying this 4G LTE network from glo, you would need to purchase a new LTE SIM or swap your existing SIM for an LTE SIM at a Gloworld, Glozone or any of their dealer outlets. You would however need to have a device that supports 4G LTE to be able to enjoy this service.

To check if your device supports LTE, send 4G to 400 via SMS using your existing glo SIM and you would immediately get a response that lets you know if you can use your existing device or not. Routers and mifi devices are however available at any of their Gloworld, Glozone and dealer outlets as well, which you can purchase to start enjoying this great speed.

To purchase a 4G LTE data plan, simply dial *777# and follow the prompts.
