It is now possible to turn your smartphone into a Gameboy and enjoy both classic and recent games. Yes, the old hand-held game console made by Nintendo that we all grew up to love in the 90’s is back.

I can still remember how I so much wished to own one back in the early 90’s, but dad or mum won’t be getting a Nintendo Gameboy for me and neither could I afford to buy it on my own, so, I just had to beg to play that of a friend that owned one.

Anyways, with the aid of a phone accessory made by a company named Hyperkin, you can insert your phone into it and instantly turn your phone into that classic hand-held Nintendo Gameboy. Do you still remember those cartridges that you have to insert into the Gameboy for you to play a game, this accessory provides same as well, which would give you a good feel of playing the hand-held game the way we use to play it back then and re-live the old days.

To make use of it, all you have to do is to insert your phone into the slot provided for this, then insert a cartridge at the back and then with the aid of the direction buttons, select, start and the A and B buttons, your game is ready to be played.

The accessory dubbed “Smartboy“, which is yet to be released for commercial use can support both iPhones and Android devices that are in the screen size range 4.6 – 5.0 inches. It would enable you to play different kind of games like classic, colour and advanced.

Smartboy is expected to be released at the end of the year and should cost between $40 and $60. See the video below.
