Spectranet 4G LTE Internet Service Provider has created unified data plans and reviewed the prices of the plans. They have also enabled free night-browsing for most of the plans with extra free data offered for a limited period of time on some of the plans as well.

They use to have an array of data plans that are kind of difficult to keep up with it as it seems the options were too much. Furthermore, the plans also vary depending on the location of the user. Spectranet 4G LTE is presently operating in only 4 major cities in Nigeria, which are

  • Lagos
  • Abuja
  • Port Harcourt and
  • Ibadan

In the four (4) locations listed above, even though there were similarities in the data plans, there were still some differences in some of the plans, which mostly affects the data volume allocated to the plans. However, these new set of data plans has unified the plans in all the locations and ensure that ‘X’ volume of data costs the same ‘Y’ amount of naira in the different locations in which they operate.

In addition to the unification of the data plans in the different locations, any 24 / 7 plan with allocated data of 20GB and above would also get an extra 10GB of data free for all renewals before June 30, 2016. The biggest good news in all of this however is that free-night browsing is now available to the same set of plans, that is, the ones with at least 20GB of allocated data.

Therefore, it all implies that if you buy or renew a data plan of 20GB, you’ll get 30GB instead of 20GB and also get free night-browsing. However, if you buy a data plan of 200GB, you’ll also only get an extra data of 210GB, which is kind of weird as one would have thought that the extra data would be a percentage of the original volume of data purchased and would have given a higher volume of extra data to the bigger data plans.

The table below shows the full list of the Spectranet data plans, allocated volume of data and every other extra detail.

    • Hello Fejiro,

I am on this same plan that you are and I was worried if the night-browsing thing was actually true. So, what I simply did was to check my data balance around 1 a.m. (which is when the free night-browsing starts) and I noted that somewhere. During the course of the night, I downloaded some heavy stuff and then before 7 a.m. (which is when the free night-browsing ends), I checked my data balance again and I found it intact, which is how I confirmed that I wasn’t charged for the data I used between 1am and 7am. So, I’ll advise that you do not check what your device is reporting to you as the data that you have used, rather log on to your Spectranet account on http://selfcare.spectranet.com.ng and check the actual balance on your Spectranet account.
